Lo-Ve (Lofoten-Vesterålen) Suite
half prefab – half custom | A preliminary design proposal showcasing a pre-fabricated container home sitting on a rugged coastal landscape.
Architecture & Design: Digital-Landscapes | Client: Vesterålen Kysthotell AS
This project proposes the integration of a prefabricated container home into a coastal landscape characterized by a rugged and stony terrain on one side and existing natural vegetation on the other.

The design features a light-weight steel construction that minimally touches the ground, aiming to reduce impact and preserve the site’s natural essence. The structure supports a west-facing terrace, providing panoramic views of Stokmarknes and establishing a visual connection and formal reference to the Hurtigruten Museum.

To blend with the environment, the façade incorporates a green roof and wall facing east, while the west-facing side opens and lights the interior through floor-to-ceiling glass elements. These elements encase a 2-room “smarthouse” of 25m2, prefabricated and developed by nordicsmarthouse and provided by the client.

3d Site Scan
Utilizing UAV and photogrammetry technologies, the project employs an accurate site model for a precise understanding of the landscape, facilitating the strategic placement of the steel construction within the coastal context.
